Darren Flack has asked me to post this as he has suffered from it recently and managed to avoid a recurrence by a drastic change of diet. This is what he says:
I had several attacks of this culminating in an horrendous hospitalisation on 17th Oct. I have not had an episode since cutting all meat, protein, fish, dairy, salt etc from my diet. Treatment with twice a day lactulose gives the belt and braces effect. It's a tough regime but it saves getting in the horrendous state I was in. If you cannot cut protein from your diet please eat a sensible amount; really less than 50g per day. Meat and cheese are the real killers. If anyone wants to ask me any questions feel free :-) Daz.
If you want to ask Darren anything you can either find him on Facebook or post here and I’ll pass it on.
